No Money
If your husband left you with $1.65, five eggs, three beets and three kids, with no job yourself, how would you cope? In my book this happens to a woman, and she asks for help from neighbors, but after awhile starts feeling guilty. If this happened to you, would you be able to accept help from people who are in almost as bad of a situation as yourself?

I don't think that I would accept their help. If I knew that someone was just as bad off as I was then I would know what they were going through and I wouldn't want them to sacrifice anything for me. I think I would first look for a job and if I couldn't find one then I would try to make something for trade to make money.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Eddi, it would be hard for me to be taking help from someone who was in the same boat as me, and by taking what help they could give me, probably worsening their own situation. If this were my life, instead of taking help from my neighbors I would want to work with them. Like grow a garden to share so its half the work, or offer to take care of their kids while they're at their job for some payment, or vice versa. Dividing up and bad situation would make things seem less horrible.
