National TV

In my book the main character goes missing. The story makes national news and her brother is very excited about this. He starts wanting to be on tv because he thinks it would impress his friends and just be cool. Throughout the whole story he pushes his mom to talk to the press and news media about her missing daughter. Is this understandable or morally wrong?

  1. It would understand if the reason he wanted his mom to talk to the press and news media was to help find his sister and to protect the community by making him aware of what happened. However, talking to the press to make himself more popular and trying to make himself cool is morally wrong. He's not wanting to talk to them for the right reasons. Does he not care about finding his sister? It doesn't seem like it.

  2. I agree with Alli, however, how old is this boy? If he's just a kid, then ya I would understand. Because he probably wouldn't be able to comprehend that his sister is missing and is excited about all the attention. Little kids can't grasp bad things very well and don't think like adults. But it sounds like this boy is prabably in his teens, so then yes, is it wrong. He is making it seem like he dosn't care about his sister at all, just himself.

  3. Yes its wrong. The way he is acting lmost makes it seem like hes the one who kidnapped or did something with his siser. He probably did just to get attention from people! I bet thats what happened.

  4. How old is this kid? If he is too young to understand what is happening it would be understandable. However if he is old enough to know what was going on then it is totally wrong to want to improve his own social rank through his sister's suffering. If he understands what could be happening to his sister, then I can't understand how he doesn't even seem to care what is happening to his sister and his family.
