A Boy?

The character in my book decided to ditch the new friends she made since they make horrible choices. Sitting all alone during lunch and not having anyone to talk to in school is no fun for her. She has noticed a cute boy that sits alone at during lunch too but by choice and ignores people when they try to talk to him. She doesn't understand why he would choose to have no friends but she wants to get to the bottom of it. What should be her first step in trying to befriend him?

  1. Hitting on him? haha
nahhh, I don't know how I would approach this situation. I think I would ask around, see if anyone else knows what his deal is. Or find out some of his interests. Then I'd try talking to him. Just go for it. =)
What's the worst he could do, ignore you? lol

  2. I would ask around and see if anybody knows anything about him, maybe you have common interests. Then after that I would approach him and start a casual conversation with him. And if he ignores you just stay there and start sitting there everyday. But if he starts sitting somewhere else maybe he just doesnt want any friends, so then you should leave him alone.

  3. He kinda reminds me of my brother, my brother doesn't talk very much and people are mistaked to believe taht he doesn't want any friends. If you talked to him about football, hunting, baseball or Oregon, then you would get something out of him. It think it is the same here, I haven't read the book, so I'm just guessing, but he needs a little encouragement and a topic of his liking. Some kids find it harder to open up than others.
