Situations.

In my book, Hester is put in a situation where she has to keep a secret. Her husband has returned with a new identity, Roger Chillingworth. He has revealed himself only to Hester and has threatened her not to tell anyone. Chillingwoth is plotting against the man that Hester truly loves. The only problem is that she doesn't know if her consquence for revealing Chillingworth's true identity to her 'lover' will be worse than what her husband i planning on doing to him. Should she tell her secret to protect her 'lover' and put herself in danger or let her husband hurt the man she loves?

  1. I think that she should tell her true love. Is she doesn't tell him this secret then he could end up hurt or dead and if she tuly loves him then she wouldn't want that to happen. Also, she didn't ask for him to share this big secret, she probbly wanted nothing to do with him because he sounds kind of crazy. I understand that they were married and all, but she had to start a new life because he was sent away (or thats how I took it) and was she supose to wait around for him? If she has a true love and it is not him she should be allowed to be with this man and not have to worry about him being hurt by Roger. If she tells the secret then he could help protect her, then she would't be the only one aware of the situation and she would have help. I think that she should tell him for both her and his sake.
