If someone beat your slave would you be upset? In my book a complete stranger almost beat a slave because he had refused to lead him to his masters house. Would you be upset?
First of all I wouldnt have a slave...it's wrong. But if I absolutely had to have one... of course I would be upset if someone beat them. First of all its a stupid reason, and secondly, its not their place. However, I think that most people back then would have been okay with it. They viewed slaves as merely property and nothing more. They didnt think of them as humans at all. So someone else beating their slave, probably would have been seen as a service to them.
