Some believe that the feeling of regret is so powerful, they think it can take over your life and your daily activities. You are constantly thinking of your past and your mistakes and you just can't let go. Do you think regret can control our life or is it only if you let it?
I think that if you let it control your life it will. Otherwise it wont. I mean sometimes you might think it can because you made the wrong decision but you can still make up what you did wrong if you work at it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Amanda. You let the regret ruin your life and destroy your chances of happiness. You can't let it get to you, so you have to train your mind to not fret about it. Personally I read my bible to calm my mind, it halps me fall asleep at night :]
ReplyDeleteyes it is hard to let those things go. and it could possibly take over your life but there has to be some cntrol over it. you can get over the things that haunt you if you really want to. it is up to you
ReplyDeletei think regret is something that could take hold in your life and not let go but it our choice whether we are going to let it. It is sometimes difficult to let go of things you regret but eventually if you don't it can ruin your whole life.
ReplyDeleteRegret has the potential to control a person's life if they let it. I think regretting something to that extent is dependent on the person. I have regrets just like everyone else but I don't hold on to it for forever. I mean, yeah, it still crosses my mind sometimes but its not like I sit around and obsess over it days on end. But, I'm sure, if the situation were right and what the person did was 'bad' enough, they could easily let the desire to take back something control their lives.
ReplyDeleteI think that it's very much your choice whether you let regret rule your life or not. It's like everything else, it's your choice if you want to become a drug addict or an alcoholic or if you want to be a really happy person or not. The way you react to situations or events in life is totally and completely your choice. I think when people are angry after something tragic happens it is because they don't want to feel the pain from the situation. Same with regret, it's almost like you CHOOSE to feel that regret so that you won't have to move on and deal with your life and what's happening NOW.
ReplyDeletei think it is very possible to let something you regret take over your life. for a while i regretted a lot of my past and was in a very, i guess you can say depressive state over what i had done and couldnt think of anything but that, but then i got over it and really dont think of it much anymore. now, when someone mentions something from my past that i regret, i get offensive because i have tried so hard to get past that and prove myslef to everyone and i have let it go, but now other people wont. i never got so far into regret that i let it rule my life, but i do think that it is very possible.
