Behavior

Back in the old days children were always polite and quite they listened to their parents and were punished when they misbehaved. Now days children are rude, don't respect anyone and are rarely punished, if ever. In my book there are two young kids who are repeatedly rude to, not only their grandma, but complete strangers. When do you think this bad behavior began to develop and why? How do you think this should be handled?

  1. Maybe they grew up around people who act like that or they are being pressured into acting like that. (peer pressure) If I was the grandma I would send them to juvinial detention and see if they change. If not I would just see if they grow out of it.

  2. It probably from watching their parents treat their grandma that way. I personally would punish the children. It would start out by just a warning then progress to getting things taken away. I would forbid them to watch tv nd make them rake the yard and their grandmas yard. And if they were sti awful it would be off to MILITARY SCHOOL!

  3. whats so wrong with a good old-fashioned butt whippin! HAHA!
But, seriously, I think the bad behavior has a lot to say about the parents, obviously respect wasnt a quality they taught their children. Kids don't become misbehaved over night, its a problem that takes years of bad behavior that goes uncorrected.
I think this behavior should be handled with priveledges being taken away. Thats how I'm punished when I do something wrong and its pretty effective.
I'm not really sure what a parent would do with a 'problem child' of an extreme degree.

  4. I think that bad behavior is instilled in kids when they are young. If they are not raised to be respectful and do what they are told, then they will assume its ok to act badly. I agree with Bethany, it says a lot about the parents. I think it should be handled with discipline of course and restrictions. If they still act out, theres always that World's Strictest Parents show!!! It seems to work pretty well.
