Abortion

In my book, Julie is pregnant and she doesn't know what to do. She considers getting an abortion, but she doesn't know if it is right. She doesn't agree with it, but she doesn't want people to know her secret.
Without causing an argument...
What is your opinion on abortion?

  1. I don't really know how I feel about abortion, I can't go one or another completely. I don't think that abortion should be a choice for a sixteen year old girl who made the choice to not use her brain and have sex but on the other hand if someone is raped and didn't make that choice, they shouldn't be punished for that. If you make the bad choice you should have to deal with the consequences, but if you didn't get pregnant voluntarily then you should have options.

  2. I am kind of on the same line as Jae. Abortion is right in some cases but in others it is completely wrong! If you decide to have unprotected sex and you are pregnant that is your fault so you need to deal with that. But if you are raped you cant control that. If I was raped I dont think I would want that baby just because it would bring back bad memories.

  3. I am anti-abortion completely all the way around. you said that the girl shouldnl't get punished for the rape. But the child shouldn't either. Everyone has the right to life, no matter what the situation is. There are options out there that can help take care of your baby, and even adoption. Somewhere out there, there is family who wants that little baby cause can't have one of their own, or whatever their situation may be. It may sound harsh, but I beleive that abortion is murder.

  4. Personally I am against abortion. I feel like it is murdering an innocent life. When a woman is 6 weeks pregnant the baby's heart can already pump blood through its body and has developed basic features, along with fingernails. I understand that there are certain circumstances for having an abortion, just like there exceptions to every rule, but I think it would be wrong for Julie to have an abortion because she is embarrassed to be pregnant at 16. She made the choice to have sex and be pregnant is a consequence. She should have to live with it, but would she be able to raise the baby? I’m not sure what I would do if I got pregnant and was only 16 but I don’t think abortion would be an option. It’s ultimately up to the in individual but I feel that it’s wrong.

  5. It depends on the situation and how far along they are. If they have been raped and want to abort the child then I think they have the right. But if she is 6 months along and got raped then she should not have the right. If you were just stupid and got pregnate then thats your own fault. Expecailly if you suspected and did not get the morning after pill.

  6. I am definitely against abortion. It's taking away an innocent life. Who knows that baby could have been the next president to get us out of a recession. lol. But as far as Julie being embarrassed by being pregnant and not wanting people to know her secret... it's ridiculous. She made the choice to put herself in that situation and now she has to live with the consequences. People may say stuff about her and she may lose friends, but if they were truly her friends, they would be there supporting her. Abortion is bad.

  7. hmm...hate to be the only one who disagrees with everyone...but i am very pro-life. i believe that it should be up to the parents as to whether they would like an abortion or not. now as for myself...i would never be able to have an abortion, but thats not the point. i do understand that if somone at 16 was dumb enough to not use protection and got pregnant that it is their fault, but if they are not emotionaly ready for financially ready to have a kid, then they should have the full choice to not have it. yes i do understand that there is always adoption, but in my eyes that would be so much harder to go through. after giving birth to a child that you created, you would just willingly give it away...i would never be able to do that.
