Dreams

Robinson Crusoe as a young man longed for adventure at high seas. But his parents did not want him to go, but he ended up going anyway. Do you think that having a big enough dream grants you liberty to not listen to your parents?

  1. I think so, because it is your dreams and not theirs. They need to let their child go for their dreams. But then again they need to listen to their parents.

  2. Abolutely! I hate it when parents try and control their kids lives or they try and live their dreams through their child. If I had a dream and my parents weren't ok with it I don't think I would really care. Of course I would always want their support but I'm not going to not do it just because they don't want me to. At the end of the day its my life and my decisions.

  3. I don't think so. I think that it's a good thing to have big dreams and goals for yourself and do whatever it takes to reach them. But just because you have those dreams doesn't mean you should completely disreguard everything that your parents are telling you. Just because your parents are telling you to do something doesn't mean you have to give up all of your dreams. Look at Robinson Crusoe, he got stranded on an island for 20 years for doing what his parents warned him against doing.

  4. I think you should always consider what your parents are telling you regardless of the size of your dream. They usually speak from experience or knowledge that you don't have.
Of course you shouldn't let what they say stop you from going after your dreams, but you should consider their advice or warnings.
