Why do single rich men always want a wife? They have all the money and land that they need but the only thing that can make their life happy is a wife.
It's like in the movies! It doesn't matter if you have all the money in the world... it doesn't mean anything if you don't have someone to share it with. I think it would be lonely to have a huge house and tons of expensive things but to be by yourself. It would get old after awhile.
I don't think necessarily that they think they NEED one, but instead that they are pressured by the demands of society who dictate what they should or shouldn't do. Especially in earlier times I think that many of the men felt obligated to. Having a lot of money does not mean that you are happy or that you have everything you need. It means you made wise business decisions. Just because you have what you need materially, like physical things, that doesn't mean that emotionally you aren't lonely or want company.
I agree with Pamala. What's happiness if you can't share it with someone? A single rich man would want a wife so he would have someone to see the world with, a person to complete him, someone special he could spend his money on instead of wasting his money of stuff he doesn't need.
Maybe they are lonely and need a companion. Or they could want someone to pass their property and riches to. They could want children of their own and someone to buy a valentines present for. They dont need one but no one wants to be alone for the rest of their life. I know I dont want to.
Most people like to have someone to come home to at night especially rich men who come home to a big empty house or apartment. Other people do feel they need to keep up with the expectations of society and they need to have a wife on their arm and one little boy and a little girl. They feel they should have the white picket fence life because that is what society expects of them.
