I think I would prefer the company of a dog. Cats are cuddly and all, but they don't really do much more than sleep and eat and sleep again. With a dog, you can play fetch and so on. I think it wold be more fun to have the company of a dog if you were stranded somewhere with no other human companionship.
I think I would perfer the company of a cat because if I were on an island alone I would be very depressed and I would want to cuddle with my cat and cry. You can't really do that with a dog because they always want to be playing and moving.
I think that I would want the company of both. Firstly if I'm stuck on an island I need all the friends I can get. But also because cats and dogs have very different personalities so one could be better than the other at different times depending on your mood. Cats have a more relaxed and lazy personality so if you were tired then a cat might be better to have around. Dogs are a lot of times more hyper and like running around more, so they would be good companions to get you up and moving aroung.
I agree with Cassandra, I would perfer to have both! I am a big animal person and I have many dogs and cats. I dont think I could function correctly if I didnt have both! lol Its always good to have dogs because they are mans best friend :) I think they can tell how you feel and they will cuddle you when you are sad and play with you when your happy and they are ALWAYS happy to see you, which would be a very good thing if I were to be stuck on an island, I would need something to brighten my day. Cats are good to have because they are like little pillows!! well... mine are... they have big tummys that are so comfortable to lay your head on and take a nap, at least this way I would always have a pillow. They would also catch the bugs and mice that are running around so I wouldnt have to worry about the nasty critters!
