Stranger
Say that you are pregnant and stranded with no money and nowhere to stay. An old lady that you do not know comes up to you, calling you by a different name and claiming that she has known you forever. She wants you to come back to stay with her. Would you go and pretend to be the person that she thinks you are and have a place to stay? Or would you not go with her?

It's hard to say unless I was actually in that situation, but I am thinking that I probably wouldnt be able to. I would explain to the lady who I was and why I was there and the bad situation I was in and if she still encouraged me to go with her, I probably would. If she kept saying I was someone else I would tell her who I was and mention I could only go with her if she understood that I wasnt who she thought I was, but that I would really appricate a place to stay until I coul get back on my feet.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't go with her, I would feel terrible for taking advantage of the situation like that, especially since the old woman would be none the wiser. I would tell her who I was and the situation that I was in, like Becca said, and if she found pitty on me, then I would take her offer, but if she still thought I was a different person I couldn't go, I would feel too bad for doing so if I did.
ReplyDeletei think i would try to figure out what was going on first like have her tell me exactly what shes talking about to see if shes just some crazy lady and then i would decide if i would go with her, because obviously thats was the only way out.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't go with her. Being alone without money and being pregnant would put me in a very vulnerable postition. I would try to find some place to stay but I would still want to figure out what the woman was talking about. What if, in some bizarre turn of events, she actually did know you? I would want to know how she knew me and why she was calling me by a different name.
ReplyDeleteI would go with her and try to figure it out from there. I would go through her stuff when she wasnt paying attention and hopefully get some clues. For all you know you could have been adopted and that could be your mother or grandmother.
