I would probably try telling him it was for the better. I have witnessed something like that. My moms boyfriends 4 year old twins, didnt see or hear from their mother. So it depends on the people.
I think I would try to be as honest as possible but in such a way that he understands that it's not his fault. You wouldn't want to lie because then he would grow up thinking that maybe your mom would be coming back which could cause him a lot of pain later on when he find out that you had lied to him. On the other hand you should shield him a little because he is a little kid and isn't necessarily capable of understanding the way that adults act sometimes.
That would be tough, I would sit down with him and explain it all to him truthfully. There is no easy way out of this situation without consequence. So you might as well give it to him straight. Plus I wouldn't want him to think that he was in any way responsible for what happened, so that point would be made very clear. Then I would pray with him for mom and comfort for us.
i would tell him the truth. because if you lie then all his life he'll believe one hing and then one day reaize the truth and then be devistated about her leaving and being lied to all through life. its just better if he understands when he is young the situation.

It would be a really tough thing losing your mom but hopefully her leaving would be in her kids best interest rather than her just leaving her responsibilities behind. But I would try and be there for my sibling as much as I could.
