Order

Would you do something someone who was in a higher order told you to do? In my new book (i switched books) they have like orders in high school and no one questions the higher order when they tell them to do something. Would you do it?

  1. It depends on what the 'higher order' told me to do. If they told me to go jump off a bridge I'm pretty sure I would object to that. haha. But it the person told me to go get them something or go somewhere, I'm sure I would do it so it wouldn't cause problems.
It also depends on who the higher order is. If its like a teacher or a principal or something along those lines I would definitely listen to them so I wouldn't get into trouble. But if it were like an upper classman (if I weren't one) I think I would have issues listening to them because we'd be so close in age it would be hard to take them seriously.

  2. Like Bethany said, it depends on what they told me to do. If its something that went against my morals then no I wouldnt. But if it is something easy like getting them something then I would most likely do that. But if they wanted me to get them something that is very easy or close to them then I would object to it just because that is them being lazy.

  3. It definitely depends on the "higher order", is the higher order just a group of friendly students? Or more likely is it the "popular" crowd? I think if people are just afraid of being ridiculed by them then I would definitely not do what they told me too. What right do they have to tell me what to do? What makes them so entitled that they can do whatever they want. Cliques like that form in schools, and out of schools to, because people are too afraid to stand up for themselves. It's just ridiculous that people are so afraid of one another on the sole basis that they might say something hurtful about you. You need to stand up for yourself in the beginning so that you won't have to continue to deal with it later on down the road.

  4. It depends on who the higher orders are. I obey my bosses at work and my parents, but they wouldn't ask me to do anything unethical or stupid. I think it would be hard in a school situation though. I understand obeying the school staff but if a high order was a student and they asked me to do something like dump their lunch tray or tie their shoe then I would have a hard time doing that.

  5. I agree with everyone else. If it's an adult then of course I'm going to listen to them, as long as the order isn't something ridiculous. But if its someone who is close to my age then chances are I'm not going to. If it was just doing someone a simple favor then I probably would, but sometimes people tell you to do stuff that they are perfectly capable of doing and thats when it starts to seem ridiculous to me.
